Pushback: no it’s not about arguing 

We love aircraft, flying and everything that swirls around it. And speaking of swirls, that might just be you as you try to unravel the sometimes impenetrable jargon that is part of aviation. The industry uses it for very specific purposes, and one of the main purposes is to keep passengers safe and sound. Here are a few:

  1. 180-degree turn: pretty straight forward. 2. Aviate, Navigate, Communicate. This may have spilled over into corporate mumbo-jumbo, where the same phrase is known as communicate, communicate, communicate. How many times have you heard that in your business dealings? 3. Fixed-wing aircraft. Again, just what it sounds like: the wing is fixed to the aircraft’s body, unlike a helicopter. 4. Concourse. The concourse is what you walk on as you frantically run for your plane. Triplane – An aircraft with three sets of wings, something you will likely only see at a museum or a thrilling airshow.
