Here is a breakdown of how the service works, the routes, and what it’s like on board: The service is divided into two distinct routes that run every night except Saturday: This route splits/joins to serve the further reaches of Scotland. It’s famous for its dramatic morning views as you wake up in the Highlands.

Destinations: Inverness, Aberdeen, and Fort William (the “Deerstalker” route, widely considered one of the most scenic train journeys in the world).
