Jet Rail, USA

Rail is the place to be. Most every country in the world uses rail as a De facto way of getting around. We here at Matouring extoll the virtues of rail over and over again until we’re blue in the face. That’s why we promote rail so much. But one country has been really sloooow when it comes to joining the rest of the planet with good, reliable, reasonably priced trains. Can you guess who is dragging its heels? Yes, the good old USA. So, as always, we here at Matouring are throwing ourselves in the ring by prodding America and America’s rail Service, Amtrak. Right up front, we are 150% behind Amtrak getting its due and being a part of the rest of the world that is girdled by trains. Even Tibet has impressive rail services.

The company has been purchasing excellent Acela trains. the French rolling stock producer Alstom. While the original first-generation Acela Express fleet (introduced around 2000) was built by a consortium of Alstom and Bombardier, the newer “NextGen” Acela fleet—known as the Avelia Liberty—is built exclusively by Alstom and assembled at their facility in Hornell, New York.

Finally, make no mis-steak, Amtrak is doing its best to rise to levels of service of of other more advanced countries. Click here
