Is your passport powerful?

This almost sounds like a challenge, but actually the topic is real and it’s relevant. But what exactly is it? A “powerful passport” refers to a passport issued by a country that grants its holders a high degree of visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to other countries around the world. In essence, the more countries a passport holder can visit without needing a visa, the more powerful or valuable that passport is considered to be.

Especially useful is the Visa-Free Access: The primary determinant is the number of countries a passport holder can visit without obtaining a visa beforehand. A powerful passport may allow its holder to enter a large number of countries either visa-free or with visa-on-arrival privileges. As you might imagine, this can make a tangible difference when you travel. But, of course, the Catch 22 is whether you have or can even obtain one of these passports.
