Every day, we scour the Interwebs to find content that we think you’ll like. We try to steer away from the typical standard normal usual stuff that you usually see in your inbox. We love to travel, we’ve done it a lot and we want to find new and interesting options for ourselves and, of course, then to share with you.
Cruises are always a bit of a guilty pleasure for many (including us.) The pluses, of course, are the opulent surroundings, the astonishing locales, the mile-long food tables and the knowledge that you will end up in an alluring location. But, the minuses can be the wait at the mile-long food tables and the realisation that 3,000 other guests will disembark with you at the same time. Just awful. 😉
If you’re not a regular cruiser, as it were, then you may have lots of questions about how to do it. Well, we discovered a rather spectacular video on YouTube from the UK’s Emma Cruises. She and her partner cruise quite a bit, and she knows her stuff. In this video, she is covering a short Ferry cruise from Helsinki to Stockholm. Yes, a ferry. European ferries are nothing like those in most other countries. They’re huge, luxurious and -well – basically cruise ships, but with shorter destinations and much cheaper fares. You get all of the benefits of a cruise at a fraction of the price. Plus, you get to visit places like Helsinki. Oh, and did we mention cheaper? They paid €44 each for the journey.
Emma’s video is an hour long, but definitely worth it. You’ll walk away from this an expert, too. And bear in mind that these tips will be useful on a full cruise as well. Time well spent, we say. And – make no mistake: this is a proper cruise ship, not a car-shuttling normal ferry. Europe knows how to do things right.
