Discover Ajara

One thing about the world is that you’ll never run out of things to do. Lucky us. And here we feature another such place that we’re willing to bet that most of us haven’t heard of, let alone seen. It’s Ajara. A region located in southwestern Georgia, it offers a unique and diverse range of attractions that make it an appealing destination for tourists. UNESCO-protected forests, legendary Georgian hospitality and futuristic architecture.

The country is also known for its breathtaking landscapes, including lush green forests, pristine beaches along the Black Sea coast, and picturesque mountains like the Adjara Mountain Range. Nature lovers will appreciate the region’s rich biodiversity and opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, bird-watching, and wildlife photography. If you want wide open spaces with uncrowded spaces, you may have found your next new favorite travel location.

And best of all, you will surely be able to wow your friends when you bring back the pictures and the memories of this little-known place. Watch the video below, courtesy of EuroNews.com

And one of the biggest draws of Ajara is the food. Known all across Europe and especially in the Balkans, when you visit, it will almost be like discovering another planet.

Ajara is also a mix of east and west. The collapse of the Soviet Union and the re-establishment of Georgia’s independence accelerated the growth of Christianity in the region, especially among the young. However, there still remain Sunni Muslim communities in Adjara, mainly in the Khulo district.  According to the 2014 Georgian national census, 54.5% were Orthodox Christians, and 39.8% Muslim. The remaining were Armenian Christians (0.3%), and others (5.3%) *content courtesy of Wikipedia.
