Choose a seat . . . any seat.

In the world of aviation, consistency is key – for everyone involved.

But, despite all of that, here’s a funny / slightly perplexing post about the vagaries and uber-rigid / lax flying terms and conditions that are implemented by airlines, or perhaps by the air authorities. There are valid reasons of course, but it makes you wonder why, or why they haven’t been reviewed and reconsidered. Well, rules and regulations are established to ensure the safety, security, and efficiency of air travel, or course. The aviation industry operates in a highly regulated environment due to the inherent risks associated with flying. But sometimes thr rules can go a bit too far. Another reason, of course, is that flying involves inherent risks, and regulations are designed to mitigate these risks as much as possible. This includes protocols for emergency situations, maintenance checks, and strict operational procedures to handle various scenarios. And, standardization in procedures and regulations helps ensure smooth and efficient air travel. Pilots, air traffic controllers, and ground staff all follow established protocols, contributing to a well-organized and safe aviation system.

But sometimes, there are historical reasons that rules and regulations may seem a bit daft and pointless – and in this case, a bit funny – until you dig in to discover what the real story is.
