Bindi Go!

Creating any company is a herculean effort for anyone, but imagine trying to bring a railroad to life from virtually nothing, or from the tattered remains of previous attempts. Or, the lack of funding, or nascent competition. Some might have the intestinal fortitude for that kind of endeavour, but it’s not for everyone.

Here’s an example of Can do. As of April 2026, India has officially entered the era of semi-high-speed overnight rail with the launch of the Vande Bharat Sleeper. This new service is designed to bridge the gap between traditional trains and air travel, offering a “hotel on wheels” experience that is faster and significantly more modern than the classic Rajdhani. So applaud  India’s VANDE BHARAT EXPRESS Sleeper Train. The service is a reserved, air-conditioned sleeper service connecting cities that are 800 km (500 mi) to 1,200 km (750 mi) apart. It offers three classes of accommodation with one First AC (1A) coach, four Second AC (2A) and 11 Third AC (3A) coaches, which can accommodate 24, 188 and 611 passengers respectively. The Vande Bharat Sleeper is built on a self-propelled

Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) platform, which is the same technology used by high-speed trains in Europe and Japan. Faster Transit: These trains can reach operational speeds of 160–180 km/h. By eliminating the need for a separate locomotive and utilizing faster acceleration/braking, they reduce journey times by roughly 15–25% compared to existing services. The “Howrah–Guwahati” Benchmark: The first route (launched in January 2026) cut the 17-hour journey down to approximately 14 hours, saving nearly three hours of travel time.
