Nowadays, most of us take such technology breakthroughs for granted. We learn, we admire and we continue with our day. It’s always a good idea, though, to look back and see just how we’ve come. One such miracle is Europe’s Eurostar. When it opened (Eurostar services officially began running on 14 November 1994,) offering passenger travel between London Waterloo International, Paris Gare du Nord, and Brussels-South. While the Channel Tunnel was inaugurated in May 1994, regular public Eurostar services commenced in November of that year.) it was a minor miracle, but an even bigger miracle for those who regularly had to traverse between The UK and Europe. The hours that it cut from the journey was (and still is a thrill.)
Ironically, many of us don’t give it a lot of thought. “It just works.” Watch below to see what goes on in managing Eurostar. It’s still relevant and it even has a double-decker train in the mix. I used to take it regularly when I was a working stiff in London.

It may not be a Shinkansen, but it is still a thrill and it will always have a place for we train buffs.
