Yes, rental car insurance is a good idea.

And we can vouch for that. After hiring a car in London, using it in Spain, and then bringing it back to London, an we noticed an ever-so-slight buff on the front bumper of this almost new Peugeot (which we adored – why can’t we get them here in North America?) It wasn’t our doing: we always take copious photos of our hire cars before, during and after usage. After haggling back and forth – at length and over many days (including transatlantic phone calls and dozens of clear, accurate photos) we finally got the rental agency to rescind the charge. What a pain.

Ease of Mind: Knowing that you have coverage can make the rental experience less stressful.
Reduced Hassle: If an incident occurs, rental insurance often means less paperwork and quicker resolution with the rental company.
