Water, babies.

No matter what time of year it is, or wherever on the planet where you live, water persists and you might just have access to it. In most adults about 60% of their bodies are water: not only do we need it – we’re made up of it. We turn into raisins if not properly hydrated. And, of course, almost all of us just love beaches and everything that accompanies that luxurious surface.

We were looking today at some of the factors that usually accompany water (activities in this case) and we were mildly but pleasantly surprised to see how much of it was watersports, regardless. And then we looked a bit further into why they’re so popular. We fired up ChatGPT and it enlightened us with the following commentary, starting with the benefits.

Physical Health Benefits: Watersports offer excellent cardiovascular workouts, helping to improve heart health, strengthen muscles, and increase endurance. They’re low-impact activities, making them suitable for people of various fitness levels and ages.

Mental Well-being: Being in or around water has been shown to have a calming effect on the mind. The sound of waves, the feeling of weightlessness, and the sense of freedom can reduce stress and promote relaxation.

Connection with Nature: Many watersports take place in natural settings such as oceans, rivers, and lakes, allowing participants to connect with nature and appreciate its beauty. This connection with the natural world can be spiritually fulfilling and provide a sense of perspective.
