Uncomfortable, Yet Enjoyable.

What more could you ask for when it comes to activities while traveling? No pain, no gain, as they say. But what are the thresholds of pain? Where do you stop? And, why do you even seek pain when you travel? Aren’t you supposed to be having fun? That’s the theory, anyway. But, let’s step away from tradition and discover another atypical, slightly wacky way of really feeling what you feel. Have you ever been on a Carlator? It’s Japan’s Most Uncomfortable Yet Enjoyable Ride, of course.

But, it’s not only a ride. It’s also a viable way of getting to the top of a mountain that boasts some rather spectacular vistas. And where would you find such a device? Japan, of course. Where else would you find practical, yet slightly zany adventures. You can find it in Sumaura Sanjo Yuen Park. And who else would inform you about this super-playful place? It’s Kuga, of course, he of the subtle rail reviews on Youtube and so much more.

If you want to visit, take the 268m-long lift, which travels at 1m/sec, to Harima Station in approximately 4 minutes and crosses the border between the old counties of Settsu and Harima while enjoying the view of Awaji Island and the Seto Inland Sea. Click here to learn more and, even better, visit the complex.

If the ride isn’t enough for you, there are classic video games, food and more. Lots to do!
