If rail is not your thing, you might want to find another venue that floats your boat. We unabashedly are rail zealots. We’re sure that we don’t really need to belabor this. (If you’d like to see some of our other rail-focused content, click here.) So, we’ll skip the preamble this time. Even the most dull traveler will admit that there is something to rail, but they can’t put their finger on it. If you find rail to be too proletarian, let us point you in a different direction. Yes, it’s rail, but there is a big win at the end of the journey, and it’s courtesy of a venerated company, where you might not get the connection, Rémy Martin.

The company is Rémy Martin. 1724: Foundation by E. Rémy Martin: The company was founded by E. Rémy Martin, a young winegrower and merchant born in 1695 near Rouillac in southwestern France. He started his own trading house for eaux-de-vie (the distilled wine that becomes cognac,) and the rest, they say is history. Even the rich love their toys, and, so, Rémy Martin invites you to discover the production site by train.

Aboard an electric train, discover in comfort their vast and precious collection of Cognac Fine Champagne and Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie. Here’s the plan. Visit of the Merpins production site: at the heart of the vast cellars. Tasting* of our cognacs VSOP in cocktail and 1738 Accord Royal accompanied by gourmet appetizers. Tastings reserved for participants aged 18 and over. For those who do not wish to consume alcohol, an alternative will be offered.
