Wherever you go in the USA, one thing is for certain. You can always count on California for a hip, welcoming and relaxed experience. Even Los Angeles has its chilled side. Maybe it’s the sun, maybe it’s the sea, but you’ll find examples of why people can be good. Of course, The city of San Francisco is renowned for its iconic landmarks, such as the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, and the cable cars. These landmarks provide picturesque views and offer a unique experience to visitors. But the people themselves are also a destination, too. It was LA and San Francisco that brought us the Hippie movement in the late 1960’s and beyond. And, that free-spirited, honest and welcoming vibe still exists. And, even better, you can find it anywhere, usually for free.
One lesser-known destination (at least to most visitors, for sure) are the Lands End Coastal Trail & the Sutro Baths. The Lands End Coastal Trail provides stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, rugged cliffs, and the Golden Gate Bridge. The trail winds along the coastline, offering panoramic vistas that are truly captivating. It’s a great place to connect with nature and enjoy the beauty of the ocean. As you hike along the path, you’ll encounter cypress and eucalyptus trees, wildflowers, and various bird species. Keep an eye out for seals and sea lions that often lounge on the rocks near the Sutro Baths (check these out. for sure.) And, again, did we mention that it is free?
