Organisations love to flaunt their own specific terminologies. Sometimes it’s absolutely necessary, especially when it comes to healthcare or, say, flying a jet aircraft. But, sometimes, it’s just made-up gibberish, intended to sound impressive. Sometimes it might actually be “code” between individuals or between competitors. Suffice to say that it can confuse us average people when we hear it. There’s even a (free) online website here that aids you in creating your own mumbo jumbo. Here’s an example: “Conveniently architect user friendly core competencies.” Or how about “Objectively administrate flexible leadership skills.” “Dramatically repurpose timely platforms.”
Enough of that. We have one here that actually means something (to some) and if you learn more about it, you could save yourself time and money. So what is The Goldilocks Window? A good example is provided here by our affiliate friends Going. The Goldilocks Window is the time before a flight when you are most likely to see an amazing deal pop up. We’re talking paying $300 roundtrip to Paris from NYC instead of $800, or $400 roundtrip to Tokyo from LA instead of $900. For domestic flights, this window is normally 1 to 3 months before your travel dates. For international trips, it’s 2 to 8 months prior. Click here to save.
However, if your trip is during a peak travel period (Christmas, summer, spring break, St. Patrick’s Day in Dublin, the Olympics in Paris) add a couple months to those windows.
Watch the video above for more tips on how to use The Goldilocks Window.
