One step beyond

We love history here, at Matouring. History is who we are and why we are the way we are. And, even more than that solumn sentence, history is actually really fun, especially when you realise all that they did – and did for the world (even today) in a relatively short amount of time.

And what did they do for us? Here are a few examples:

Many of our buildings and how they are heated, the way we get rid of our sewage, the roads we use, some of our wild animals, religion, the words and language we speak, how we calculate distances, numbers and why we use money to pay for goods were all introduced by the Romans.

But, in this article, we discover how far – literally – the Romans Romans got: very far on some of their campaigns – they got as far as the Scottish Highlands and the Persian Gulf. Look at your map and be amazed.

They’ve certainly left enough evidence around the world to remind us.
