But, one who always seemed to float near the top of the list was Bob Hope. As versatile, likeable and always in-demand as anyone could be, he charmed his audience by his laissez faire approach, his affable real-life persona and his sheer longevity placed him in the annals of showbiz royalty and 80 years of achievements in burlesque, network radio, television, and USO Tours secured his legend. He appeared in more than 70 short and feature films, starring in 54. Bob, married to his wife Dolores for sixty nine years, showed how it should be done.

One thing that Bob certainly did well was to spend big cash on his homes: he had several: one, a spectacular vision that almost belies belief, and another, more modest bungalow.
