Old ski-ramp nose

Join us today as we time-travel back to the 1940s through to the 1960s. For many mature people, those were the halcyon days. Jazz was king, most world economies were robust and entertainment was at the top of the list, especially after World War II. Out of this mélange of influences and creativity came a series of entertainers that the world would not (and has not, to this day) forgotten. Even if you didn’t live in the USA or Europe (which was a big hub for entertainment) you would likely know stars like Joan Fontaine, Rosalind Russell, Cary Grant, Tyrone Power and more. They were the big deal and their influence on divertissement still captivates.

But, one who always seemed to float near the top of the list was Bob Hope. As versatile, likeable and always in-demand as anyone could be, he charmed his audience by his laissez faire approach, his affable real-life persona and his sheer longevity placed him in the annals of showbiz royalty and 80 years of achievements in burlesque, network radio, television, and USO Tours secured his legend. He appeared in more than 70 short and feature films, starring in 54. Bob, married to his wife Dolores for sixty nine years, showed how it should be done.

As you might expect, when you have success, money usually follows, and that is certainly the case here. One thing that Bob certainly did well was to spend big cash on his homes: he had several: one, a spectacular vision that almost belies belief, and another, more modest bungalow. And, as luck may have it, you can stay in that very comfy place. Five bedrooms, hot tub and pet-friendly, you can almost sense his presence.
