Now you sea them . . now you don’t

We were watching some YouTube vids the other day, as there is always a boatload of great content if you take the time to dredge through it all. In this instance, we were pleased to sea two of our fave creators, the MapMen. Always accurate, always fun and funny and, most of all, interesting.

In this instance, after seeing a peculiar black spot on Google maps, the lads decided to unearth what it was and why it was there. As you can, imagine, this took them down a rat hole that led to a place where I am confident that they hadn’t intended: phantom islands, as it were. Watch the video below as they chase down the truth. PS: you may wish to add subtitles before you watch, as the chaps have lots to say and only a certain amount of time to say it.

Just to be certain, do not confuse the MapMen with Swell Maps, another British group, but this time they’re musical, rather than nautical. And, if you find yourself entranced and immersed in this whole sea shanty of sorts, click here for total map nirvana.
