For those who live in or visit Britain, the title of this post should be familiar. Every country has its stalwarts. Whether if its Amtrak or a Shinkansen, rail is the way. Similarly, though, rail is not always the way: rail may not even be available. So, when that happens, out come the sturdy buses to do the heavy lifting. Some consider buses as an annoyance but, when you actually get into the bus vibe you’ll never look back. In Britain, much like elsewhere, there are smaller routes for local buses, but if a city or town wants to join the big leagues, buses are a must. And no bigger player in that league is The National Express. Here. though, this reliable friend pokes a little bit of fun about those who use the bus. The brits are no slouches when it comes poking fun at themselves and others. So, enjoy this playful and, being British, slightly sarcastic and certainly tongue in cheek tune.
One thing is for sure, and all jokes aside, the National Express has made all of England accessible and comfortable and affordable. When your editor lived in the UK, taking the bus was de rigueur. One other rather important plus is that it is sensibly priced.
