Another rail post, I’m afraid, so if trains and other kinds of choo-choos turn you off, then kindly step away from the platform behind the yellow line. This post is kind of a layer cake as it were, as it features a bit of history, a bit of travel and a lot of fun. Here, we feature a local (as in metro Vancouver) activity. For a number of years, the hardy and hearty owners of the Surrey Heritage Rail have been stoking the coals to keep this post’s star. As they offer, themselves, “Take a journey back in time by riding on one of two restored electric interurban cars. Visit our discovery centre to take two other very unique rides. See and learn the history

attached to this fully operational railway.” It’s such a winner with everyone who hops aboard goes away happy. As riders tend to leave opinions, and they’re universally good: for example “Very well maintained, the staff are all extremely kind and the museum does a great job of being interactive. There’s a lot to learn about Surrey’s heritage trains here and the staff are very passionate about trains and restoration work which makes the tour much more enjoyable. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys learning about trains and Surrey’s history. Plus you get an actual train ride twice!” We here at Matouring are not bigging this up because we know the company (we don’t. Nor are we part of the team. No, we’re spending this time on this post because this is a prime example of how small companies just simply do it right. If you find your way out in deep dark Surrey BC, be sure to secure a ticket or two before you. Have a look at what you’ll see here
