If it’s Boeing . . .

. . . we’re not going.

This post may be polarizing, but we feel like it needs to be said. We are deeply suspicious (and nervous) about flying on some Boeing jets. You must have had your head under the pillows if you haven’t heard of the rather troubling articles about the Boeing’s 737 MAX.

You may remember the Boeing 737 MAX groundings ; 2019-2020 grounding: where the airworthiness was revoked after recurring flight control failure and Uncontrolled decompression; 2024 groundings.

The two fatal Boeing 737 MAX crashes in October 2018 and March 2019 which were similar in nature – both aircraft were newly delivered and crashed shortly after takeoff – and the subsequent groundings of the global 737 MAX fleet drew mixed reactions from multiple organizations.

But, in our opinion, when is enough? The passengers killed in two 737 MAX crashes are legally considered “crime victims”, which has consequences concerning possible remedies. That smacks of hubris to us. But what will be the outcomes of this? It certainly makes us stop and think about which planes to choose and from which manufacturer. Our choice is Airbus. Look at the safety stats on both manufacturers and then decide. Wikipedia has more on that. Click here.

This may not last forever, but it cannot continue as it is. Choose wisely when you fly.

Worried about Boeing? Canada’s AirTransat flies world-wide solely using Airbus jets. We know who we’d choose. Click here to book AirTransat.
