Hayden Tract attraction.

At this place in time in our world 2026, it’s not a very nice place to be. With wars burbling or already underway, the poor succumbing to even more pain and suffering, it almost makes you want to give up. Streets are filled with the homeless, with some countries (guess who) don’t seem to care or have any kind of plan to make things better. So, it was encouraging when we stumbled upon this video from CBS television in Los Angeles. Let us introduce you to the The Hayden Tract It is a formerly derelict industrial district in Culver City that has been transformed into a world-renowned “architectural wonderland.” Spanning roughly 80 acres, it is defined by a 30-year collaboration between the avant-garde architect Eric Owen Moss and developers Frederick and Laurie Samitaur Smith.

Why would you want to visit? Investigating the Hayden Tract is worth your time because it represents one of the most successful and visually daring experiments in “adaptive reuse”—the process of breathing new life into old warehouses by treating architecture as a radical art form. The area is essentially an outdoor museum of deconstructivist architecture. Rather than tearing down the 1940s-era warehouses, Moss built on top of and through them, creating a “city-within-a-city” that feels like a futuristic movie set.

Isn’t it good to see good things happening? Why not visit and be a part of it all?
