Get your wings!

Travel often include flight. You either love it or you hate it – sometimes both at the same time. We generally love it, despite the occasional hiccup. The number of flights performed globally by the airline industry increased steadily since the early 2000s and reached 38.9 million in 2019. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the number of flights dropped to 16.9 million in 2020. Those are impressive numbers.

But, for some of us (us included,) flying is so much more than just collapsing into your seat and putting on your eye masks. It is a minor miracle, when you think about it. And we’re not the only ones who still – even in our sunset years – marvel at the spectacle of flight.

So join us and spend a little time enjoying this video about the refreshed US National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC, USA. Yes, much of this is focused on warplanes, which we’re not huge fans of, but out of these machines came the technology that we take for granted nowadays when we fly.
