Well, here’s a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma: Point Roberts, US of A. Dangling off the end of British Columbia, Canada sits Point Roberts, a part of the USA. Isolated from the rest of the US, it truly is a place of wonder and bemusement.
Lovely beaches and forests, relaxing paths on which to walk, impressive marinas and wide open vistas to the Straits of Georgia and beyond, it is a pene-exclave of the USA on the southernmost tip of the Tsawwassen peninsula, south of Vancouver, Canada. Around 1,100 people reside there.
There is a US / Canadian border that one must contest with every time you wish to visit Point Roberts. There are a few restaurants, a bar and a grocery store. It surely is for the die-hards if you want to live there.
