For when the interwebs are down

Increasingly, finding wifi in far away places is getting easier and easier.  You can travel almost without worrying about it.  And, there is the promise of new satellite-based services that can give you a signal even if you’re in the bottom of a well.

But, even if you’re completely set when it comes to wifi in foreign places, some of us just like having something tangible to use just in case the language barrier appears.  Some people even use books!

The ever-reliable WikiTravel has come up with a nice solution – their downloadable phrasebooks. They feature the following:

  • Pronunciation
  • Basic grammar
  • Phrase lists
  •  And more
And there are dozens of languages to choose from.  And don’t forget that we have translation tools here, too.
