If you’re old enough to remember the day when the Eurostar train took its first blast through the tunnel, you’ll recall what a thrill it was. Not only was it groundbreaking, it was ear-breaking, as it whooshed past you as it entered or exited the tunnels. Of course there have been many other trains since that fly by, but the memories and history of Eurostar is something to be remembered applauded, and, most of all, not to be forgotten. It is still a big thrill (especially for train geeks like your editor) What is good is how the line and service have been and will be upgraded and, finally, “restored” back to the glory days. Amsterdam/Brussels to Geneva: Also targeted for introduction by the early London to Antwerp: Launches December 14, 2026, running up to four times daily as an extension of existing London–Amsterdam services. Note: This direct connection is outbound from London only; return trips require a change in Brussels due to border control setups. London to Frankfurt & Geneva: Planned for the early 2030s following an order of 30 new electric trains designed for expanded continental reach.
