DESTINATION: Ukraine nuclear missile base

If you are one of those “I’ve seen it before and I’ve done it before” tourists, we may have something for you, especially if you find the Cold War alluring.

Ukrainian travel consultant Yulia Kulyk would like to tell you a little bit more about the Soviet era in modern Ukraine. Ukraine today is an independent country, but it used to be a part of the Soviet Union from 1919 to 1991, so that’s a big part of our history. We cannot deny that this topic is interesting to many tourists from all over the world. And Ukraine does have a lot to offer in terms of Soviet history, architecture and the Cold War era.

There are many post-war sites to see, but one of the most impressive one is a nuclear missile base, which travelers can visit now because it has been converted into a museum. Indeed, there are just two such museums in the world—one in the U.S. and the other in Ukraine. (See video below.)
