China gets its wings

We will not even begin to touch on the political whirlpool that is happening between the Chinese and other countries in the world right now. If you’ve lived long enough, you’ll easily recognize this chest-beating as just another day in world politics. The methods and results depend on who ends up flashing their weapons of mass destruction on that particular day. At the end of the day, no country is really better than another. But even with that world view, the taunting and the manufactured truths still pour into our laps.

One area that has always been held in the hands of basically two “leaders” and that is Boeing and Airbus. They have had the skills and the clout to pretty much own the aviation market. There have been smaller manufacturers, such as Embraer, Lockheed and Bombardier, but their numbers are scant compared to Boeing and Airbus. The latter two have succeeded by smart technology and / or purchasing smaller firms.

But, as you might expect, this “hegemony” can’t last for ever, as the world gets bigger and richer. And who do you think might be first in line to participate? That right – China. China’s first homegrown narrow-body jet is looking to compete with Western giants like Boeing. Watch how the landscape may change.

The plane will soon be in the air. Final testing is underway.
