As the world marches ever forward toward oblivion, courtesy of the fat cats who sit in the halls of “power,” let us not forget that people are dying out there, and some of them may be your children. Do you really want to subject them to yet another world war? That’s easy for you to say, but what happens if you’re next, or if the rush and push of those who disagree will finally hang you from a tree. No-one wants war and we have enough evidence to see how it ends.

So what is this post about? The Bomber County Gateway Trust has been formed with the object of designing, procuring, constructing and installing an iconic landmark art installation on the county border of Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. It is there to remind you that there are no winners in war. This worthy installation should be on your list when traveling in The UK.

An action-ready Lancaster Bomber had a crew of seven, as detailed below. A full tour of duty for those crew members was 30 missions after which, they had “earned” their pass an could be transferred to less dangerous duties. Their astonishing bravery is made obvious by the fact that the loss rate was, on average, 5% so you were lucky to survive more than 20 missions. Small wonder each of the crew was instructed to complete his will before his first mission.
