Located in Manaus, this unasuming eatery has burst into the limelight over this past year as the place to eat. After much soul-searching, Clarinda Ramos (holding her breath) opened when enough friends, family and tourists insisted that she should.
“People have always made fun of the fact that I came from an aboriginal village,” she says. “We are seen as undeveloped compared to other societies, and our food is considered by many to be the kind only wild animals would eat.”
But she has had the last laugh . . prepare to be amazed.
