A promo for Bromo

Up until a few days ago, we’d never heard of Mount Bromo, let alone get a hankering to want to visit. After some clever investigation courtesy of your editor’s clever better half, we started to look into. It’s one of those places that you will need to make a concerted effort to visit, but the result will be yet another opportunity to “one-up” your friends and family when it comes to mind-blowing slide shows on your big screen.

Mount Bromo, located in East Java, Indonesia, is a popular tourist destination – for those in the know – and for good reason. One of the main attractions of Mount Bromo is the breathtaking sunrise view from Penanjakan viewpoint. Watching the sunrise over the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park with Mount Bromo and Mount Semeru in the foreground is a mesmerizing experience.

The landscape around Mount Bromo is otherworldly – truly – featuring a vast sea of volcanic sand, surrounded by rugged mountains. The area is often shrouded in mist, creating an ethereal and mystical atmosphere. As part of that, Mount Bromo is part of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, which houses several active volcanoes. Visitors have the opportunity to witness the active volcanic activity, including occasional eruptions, providing a thrilling and unique experience.
