Tehran: A car? A Van?

This may seem like an odd post, unless you’re a citizen of the world. Some people are deeply afraid of places like Iran, and in certain situations at certain times of the year, many places are to be avoided. But, in all of our travels (which have been many and across the planet) we have never had any issues with crossing borders or, even better, making new friends. No matter where you go, your eyes give you away, so be as open, kind and open-minded as you possibly can be.

It’s not hard. Just be honest, but also be aware. And a smile always helps. We know, sounds pretty simplistic, but there are happy people everywhere, and they just may want to become your new forever friend. So, in the spirit of this approach to life and, also this enjoyable drive through Tehran and beyond. The people are proud to show you their country. Join in!

Start in Tehran:
Begin your journey in Tehran, the capital city of Iran.
Take the Chaloos Road (Road 59):
Head north from Tehran on the Chaloos Road (Road 59). This road is known for its scenic views but can be steep and winding in some sections.
Pass through Karaj:
You will pass through the city of Karaj as you head north on the Chaloos Road.
Continue on Road 59:
Follow Road 59 through the Alborz Mountains. The road will take you through several tunnels and offer panoramic views. Descend to the Caspian Sea:
As you continue on Road 59, you will gradually descend from the mountains towards the Caspian Sea. Arrive at the Caspian Sea:
The Chaloos Road eventually leads you to the Caspian Sea coast. The specific town or city along the Caspian Sea will depend on your chosen destination. Done!
