No. Far from it. In fact, it’s one of the most up-to-date metros on the planet, as is its home, Santiago. Even a gringo can manage to master it, as you’ll see in the video below.
Some of us get very used to the way we like to live and how our environment should be, and that’s fine. But it’s even better to step out of our daily lives and refresh our knowledge about how the rest of the planet carries on. Taking that step to dig a little deeper often unearths some real jewels. We love that. And one place that we still think is misunderstood is Chile. You may think of it as this small hamlet-like village where everyone commutes in a 1967 VW Bug. Well, you couldn’t be more wrong. Chile boasts a low-cost of living without giving up anything required for quality of life. Excellent healthcare, reasonably-priced accommodations, and an education system that engenders a high standard of learning, make Chile a top place to consider living. Watch the video above to see how a couple from the USA have come to love the Metro De Santiago.
And one of its shining stars is Santiago’s El Metro De Santiago is a rapid transit system serving the city of Santiago, the capital of Chile. It currently consists of seven lines, 139 stations, and 143 kilometres. The system is managed by the state-owned Metro S.A. and is the first and only rapid transit system in the country. But, growing into rail later than some other countries has enabled it to quickly adopt the latest technologies to serve its annual ridership: 685 million passengers in 2017. Be prepared to be pleasantly surprised when you hop on to this modern service to visit Chile’s unforgettable sites.
You’ll be pleased with all that Santiago has to offer. It’s a big place!
