In the words of Depeche Mode, “people are people, so why should it be that you and I should get along so awfully?” This song was written in 1984 and, sadly, it feels like we’re living in Orwell’s 1984 all over again. To us, anyway, the past couple of years has been a “behind the curtains” cloak and dagger exercise by the powers that be. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We, as individuals, can express positivity in the smallest ways, every day. Hold a door open for someone. Smile at a passerby. Donate. And, remember, you can visit these genuinely outstanding examples of true humanity, see it and be it.
