Diverging slightly here from our regular content somewhat, to restart a feature that we had some years back, which is the excellent Youtube site Never too small. You may remember them. As they describe themselves, they at the forefront of small footprint living; architects and designers are experimenting and perfecting the creative use of space. Transforming the way we live and interact. Never Too Small is dedicated to small-footprint design. Featuring micro-apartments, tiny homes and self-contained projects alongside their designers. And, from our perspective, Never Too Small have been on the right track ever since. As we write this post today, Earth’s temperature has risen by an average of 0.11° Fahrenheit (0.06° Celsius) per decade since 1850, or about 2° F in total. Global temperature is projected to warm by about 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7° degrees Fahrenheit) by 2050 and 2-4 degrees Celsius (3.6-7.2 degrees Fahrenheit) by 2100. The projected world population on Jan. 1, 2024, is 8,019,876,189, an increase of 75,162,541 (0.95%) from New Year’s Day 2023. During January 2024, 4.3 births and 2.0 deaths are expected worldwide every second. Scary? Yes, it is.
What does this all mean? There are too many of us, and we’re not preparing for this wave of humanity. But, as you’ll see in the video, below, people are thinking ahead and rather than holing themselves up in bunkers they are making life livable in a livable way. And what a way it is! Give it some thought. Never too Small think about it all the time. There are places for you, everywhere. Watch the video above.
