You can’t please everyone.

So . . . .you’ve got to please yourself. Le Corbusier, like most artists, was simultaneously a prophet and a pariah of sorts of the architectural world, a figure whose influence was as immense as the controversy he inspired. He was admired for his revolutionary vision of a new, functionalist architecture and criticized for his rigid, uncompromising designs that were often seen as cold, inhuman, and destructive. Simple as that.

We wouldn’t have the world of MCM to admire of MCM and enjoy like we do now . . and, in some instances, swoon. Thus, if we didn’t have the likes of Le Corbusier, a pivotal component to art would be gone. Watch above.

Yes, you can visit Le Corbusier properties across the globe, with significant sites in France (such as Villa Savoye, Maison La Roche, and the Cité Radieuse in Marseille), Switzerland (like Villa Le Lac and Immeuble Clarté), India (the Assembly in Chandigarh), Argentina (the Maison du Docteur Curutchet), Japan (the National Museum of Western Art), and Belgium (Maison Guiette). Many of his most famous works are part of the UNESCO World Heritage list, including private residences and public buildings, offering unique insights into the architect’s iconic style. France has the treasure trove of his work. How about that as a Roman holiday?
