Shush in La Push

Shush…. show a little respect. This post is for you adventurers who constantly want to do something out of the ordinary. Rather than spend your days on a beach or in a huge city, going from one museum to another, you want to look for something that not many others have seen. You want to impress your friends with your adventure skills, and wish to bring home photos and – maybe – souvenirs that will “wow” them.

You may have specific areas of expertise that allow you to discuss at length about arcane historical oddities that, as obscure as they may seem, are worthy of discussion and your time. We try to offer these on our site as we, like you, love to discover the arcane, the bizarre and the unforgettable.

So, here we showcase a very unusual topic, indeed. Set in La Push, Washington State, USA, about an hour outside of Seattle by car, there is an almost hidden, lonely and esoteric monument to fallen Chilean Sailors, of all things. You will have to work your way into the woods to find it, but it will likely fill you with a rush of emotions. And, don’t miss the gorgeous wild Pacific beaches like First Beach, with its huge waves. Forested trails lead to Second and Third beaches, where birds gather on offshore rock formations. At Rialto Beach, tide pools surround Hole-in-the-Wall, a natural rock arch. Shush. A moment of silence, please.
