As if life isn’t mind-boggling enough, but now there are places you can go to get completely discombobulated. Almost like a bad psychedelic movie from the 1970’s, you will step into this most wonderous of places and will then be “full of confusement” as Mike Tyson once said (supposedly.)
What is this most miraculous of places? It is the Museum of Illusions in Zadar, Croatia. Museum of Illusions. Whether you’re feeling your way through the Vortex Tunnel, laughing at yourself in the Mirror Room, or solving mind-boggling puzzles, Zadar’s Museum of Illusions will challenge your senses and open your mind. Inspired by Zagreb’s museum of the same name, the museum makes a fun diversion from city sightseeing. And don’t forget that the beer is strong in Croatia.
An admission ticket for the Museum of Illusions includes unlimited access to the interactive exhibits. Along with the Vortex Tunnel and Mirror Room, highlights include a horizontal room, a “zero-gravity” room, an infinity room, and a number of holograms. Be sure to bring your camera—there are endless opportunities for Instagram-worthy photos, from sitting on a gigantic, Alice in Wonderland–style chair to serving up your own head on a dinner plate. There’s also a playroom filled with puzzles and games.
