In this place in time, as we write, there are still any number of sad and appalling events happening to our fellow humans, all around the globe.
Those who can, fight back. But others are in no position to do anything but simply survive. And the need for domination starts at the top of the food chain, where the big countries with the most abilities to save the planet and its people appear to funnel their resources always somewhere else. I guess we really do need the latest generation of stealth fighters.
But there is always someone at the receiving end of this pointless violence. In this case, we are highlighting a man and a place where decisions were made that were just wrong.
Gordon Kiyoshi Hirabayashi (平林潔, Hirabayashi Kiyoshi, April 23, 1918 – January 2, 2012) was an American sociologist, best known for his principled resistance to the Japanese American internment during World War II, and the court case which bears his name.
