Here’s another one of those yes / no yin and yang posts were the thrilling is peppered with the realistic. We’re covering cruise ships again. Many of us love cruises, while others are more like “if you can’t beat ’em, you might as well join ’em.

And as the ships get bigger and better with more and more people and more and more things to do, the force is strong. Running a cruise ship is not always a day at the beach, especially for the cruise lines themselves. It’s a costly endeavor, at times where profits are wafer-thin.

Take Coco Key, for example. Carnival Cruise lines pumped $600 million into just this one tropical escape. And did you know that MSC has it’s on private island?  So what’s the point here?
