Coming from British stock, we have a soft spot in our hearts about Britain (where we once lived), the monarchy and all of the pomp and circumstance(s) that surround this ancient country and everything that surrounds it.
As a refresher for those who are not a member of United Kingdom, it is a state made up of the historic countries of England, Wales and Scotland, as well as Northern Ireland. To make it simple, most historians agree that, the all-island state that existed between 1707 and 1800 is either “Great Britain” or “Kingdom of Great Britain” The Commonwealth includes countries from all continents, representing a diverse range of cultures and economies.

However, Britain is far from singular. Modern day. The Commonwealth and dozens of companies still happily remain a part of the empire. There have been rumors of its demise, but that is actually far from the truth. In fact, the Commonwealth is expanding.
So what is the Commonwealth? It is a voluntary association of 56 independent countries, almost all of which were formerly under British rule. Members cooperate on various issues, including trade, education, and sustainable development. The origins of the Commonwealth come from Britain’s former Empire. The King is the boss. Long live The Boss. We mean it, man. So what’s in it for you, then? Lots of places to visit and enjoy. English is the language of choice, too, if that is your wont.
