Do you ever have the urge to turn off the television and Netflix to really pause to find out about ourselves? This may seem like a convoluted and even perhaps silly way of questioning an understanding of our history as humans and how we finally settled as did and as we are now. You may not even give it a thought often. But when the world gets more bloated and we don’t seem to collectively want to solve the problem, the problem looms ever larger. But, we think this post is an easy way to highlight and categorize the dominant East-to-West movements over the past several hundred years by grouping them into three primary, historically-driven waves: Colonization/Settlement, Economic Expansion, and Post-War Displacement. When you think a bit about it, the categories do a plausible job in helping us know why we are where we are, & not elsewhere.
One thing is for sure. It’s going to be up to us to fix it. We’re all humans. It’s in our hands. What will you do?
