Tower of Power

Powerful countries usually make their own Powerful Statements. Some like to use bombs. Some use diplomacy. Most get their point across, but some are more graceful than others. Others just don’t have a clue. And they all tend to leave a legacy, allowing those who stay behind to make their own assessments.

There are those special cases where the powers behind these conclusions choose good ones, for the people. Germany has, for many decades, been a stalwart and the model of how countries should be. It has been cited as a positive example for several reasons, particularly regarding its handling of its past and its current role in international relations. However, it’s crucial to acknowledge that no country is perfect, and Germany, like any other, faces ongoing challenges.

The country has established robust democratic institutions and a strong rule of law, and places a high value on human rights, both domestically and internationally. Also, Germany plays a significant role in international organizations like the European Union and the United Nations, promoting democracy and human rights.

One thing that the country does is to celebrate itself in any number of ways. Germany has always led in design and architecture: think of the Bauhaus movement of The Bauhaus from, 1919–1933.

The Bauhaus was founded in 1919 in the city of Weimar by German architect Walter Gropius (1883–1969). Its core objective was a radical concept: to reimagine the material world to reflect the unity of all the arts. It gave us MCM design and so much more. Happily, many of these incredible designs still exist. One such is the Berlin TV Tower. Can you see yourself ascending to the top of this unique and splendid edifice?
