The more you travel, the more you see how the world is not always how it looks in the brochure. And, that’s not a bad thing. Having your groggy eyes opened wide is a most wonderful thing. As we write posts each day here, we’re always blown away and overjoyed at the sheer variety that this planet offers. And the biggest – and best – part of that is Earth’s people: how the good ones, the smart ones, the open minded ones turn this huge ball in space into a non-stop party, and one that we’re all invited to as long as we know the customs of the parties. Your editor still gets a thrill when, for example, British me accidentally bumps into Japanese her in a street in Peru. . . and then we both burst out laughing at the result. It’s easy. It’s fun. And these are the best kinds of elements of travel.
