This is in Seine!

Cast your mind back a few years to when the Olympics were underway. Most seine people would never have even dipped their shoe in to Paris’s famous / notorious Seine river. (It may not have been as bad as the one in Cleveland Ohio, USA, where their river burst into flames at least thirteen times.) Still, Paris’s river has had its moments. But, mon dieu, maintenant it’s back and it’s the place to be in the place to be.

Historically, for decades, most people were afraid to swim in the Seine, and for good reason: it was highly polluted and swimming was officially banned in 1923 for public health reasons. The water quality was notoriously poor due to sewage, industrial runoff, and agricultural pollution. That was then, but this is now. Billions of Euros have been invested in upgrading Paris’s sanitation infrastructure. What are you waiting for?
