Things are looking up!

Surely most of our erudite readers have been to Rome, probably more than once. How can you not? And how can you not avoid it? And why would you even want to avoid it?

We would also reckon that you have already craned your neck left, right, and centre soaking in all of the sumptuous statues and ruins and villas. Rome just goes on and on, luckily. Aren’t we fortunate? Gorgeousness is everywhere. Look up and wait for the skies to appear in that stunning view.

But we’re willing to bet that there is another delight that might have just gone right over your head – literally – while you were on your way during the day. It’s the Galleria Sciarra.

The  Palazzo Sciarra is a palace built by a branch of the Colonna family, with the main facade located on the Via del Corso #239 in Rione Colonna in central Rome. It presently houses the headquarters of Fondazione Roma. It’s currently open to visit, so treat yourself to one of the best hidden pleasures in Rome. And one of the best things is that it’s free.
