Every time that we visit the big Italian cities, we often walk away scratching our heads. As we understand it, the The Room of the Last Supper on Mount Zion, just outside the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem, but all of the paintings appear to be somewhere else, with Milan suspiciously appearing in the mix, as well.
The Cenacle (from the Latin cenaculum, “dining room”), also known as the Upper Room (from the Koine Greek anagaion and hyperōion, both meaning “upper room”), is a room in Mount Zion in Jerusalem, just outside the Old City walls, traditionally held to be the site of the Last Supper.
But, why is it that we always see them sitting around a table in Milan. Are we missing something? Likely, and perhaps a little bit of cheeky, but good-natured humor thrown in, too.
