The Isle of fire

We’re talkin’ about Nyoo Yawk, here, so listen up.

Most people have heard about Long Island, New York.  Just a short train ride from Manhattan, it is a world unto itself.  It was once – and in many ways, still is – the essence of Bohemian.  But, the ocean-side mansions also are there, so that’s a thing, too.

Some don’t know about Fire Island, which is a more relaxed part of the enclave.  No cars are allowed on Fire Island, so bring your best espadrilles and hit the boardwalks, of which there are many.  There is still an aura of Bohemia on Fire Island, and it is resolutely LGBTQ+ .  And that brings its own unique buzz and chill at the same time.

Next time you’re in The Big Apple, treat yourself to the cool island of fire.
