Still the same?

Some places on our planet never really seem to change. And why would they when they’re nearly perfect to begin with. We won’t rattle down a list of places here, but one location popped up a few days ago and this one really is a chestnut. We’ll cut to the chase and leap into a bit of history. Whether it’s by television or actually taking one of his tours, Rick Steves has – for decades – been the authority when it comes to European travel. For a long time, you would need to find some of his tours on paid channels, or opt to join one of his many real-life tours.

He’s worked hard and now, it seems, has given himself a little leeway to share and share alike. Let’s all break away and enjoy France’s Dordogne, certainly one of the most beautiful and unforgettable places in an unforgettable country. While you’re loving France, take some time and visit Carcassonne. It’s a a UNESCO World Heritage site in the heart of the fortified city Gorgeous. Carcassone was the seat of power of the Counts of Carcassonne, and then of the famous Trencavel family in the 12th century. Following the Albigensian Crusade, when the Royal forces seized Carcassonne, accusing it of complicity with the Cathars, it became a Royal fortress governed by a seneschal. Click here.
