With all of the hullabaloo that we’ve been seeing over the past few months regarding the relative crisis in travel locations (especially desirable ones) being overrun by hoards of ignorant or rude (or both) travelers, we were somewhat surprised to see that one very desirable place seems to have more or less escaped the stampede, and that’s St-Tropez. Almost turning its nose up to the conundrum that the rest of France is facing, St-Tropez is achieving a somewhat Herculean feat by being able to maintain some calm and decorum. Why is this?
To our mind, much of this success surely must be down to St-Tropez being part of no-nonsense France. Everyone knows that the French don’t suffer fools, so don’t be one. So what can you do, as a smart global citizen? If possible, visit St-Tropez during the shoulder seasons to experience a less crowded atmosphere. You can also choose to dine and shop at locally owned establishments to contribute to the community.
Talk about kudos – not only will you (as a polite patron) be smiled upon rather than the more frequent frowned upon dimwits, your adventure will be that much better. We’re counting on you.

Explore the surrounding countryside and discover hidden coves and picturesque villages by walking or hiking, rather than blasting through town in your Harley Davidson.

What can we say but wow! Treat yourself to the La Ferme D’Augustin. La Ferme D’Augustin is a hotel surrounded by a garden, just steps from the beach, which borders Pampelonne Bay and a 5-minute drive from Saint-Tropez. It offers en suite accommodations, a restaurant and a heated outdoor pool. The air-conditioned rooms and suites at La Ferme d’Augustin feature a Mediterranean décor and antique furniture. They are equipped with a telephone, TV and private bathroom. Some rooms have a whirlpool bath, hammam-style shower and balcony with sea views. Click here .
